At the owner level: Owners retain control. Controlled from Settings > Content, the owner of the post could opt-in to the CW system. CW's would be added at each individual post by the user. At the reader level: Controlled from Settings > Content, a reader could choose to restrict certain types of content such as "depicts violence" from their page. CW warnings would only appear if the owner and user both enable. Reader could enable CW warnings, or restrict the material from appearing on their feed entirely. At the admin level: This technology would be primarily for group moderation. Admins and group moderators would have a suite of tools to encourage content warnings on their page. They could send a reminder to members to attach content warnings and assign content warnings to messages posted in their group.

PLEASE SHARE THIS WITH ANYONE SHARING CRISIS ACTOR HOAXES: As a Media Psychologist, I study propaganda techniques and how misinformation is deployed. I can say with confidence that Florida students in the news are not "crisis actors." I have been interviewed in the press, and I have conducted interviews as a journalist, and owner of my own Media publication. And I can tell you that asking for multiple takes in an interview is a very common thing. People have many reasons, and it is unsafe to assume the reasons for asking for re-takes is that they are paid government agents. It could be that interviewees don't like the way their is hanging in their face when they talk. Or it could be that their friends just died, and they know how important it is to be clear and accurate. Groups like HONR Network exist to protect school shooting victims from harassment. Please support their efforts. via Jedediah Walls, Media Psychologist http://ift.tt/1dvncio

A group of US child welfare experts recently wrote to Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg urging him to close down Messenger Kids - a messaging app developed for children - saying it was irresponsible to encourage pre-teens to use the platform. It cited evidence of adolescents reporting severe mood changes because of social media use and girls as young as 10 facing body image issues because of the pictures they are bombarded with on platforms such as Facebook-owned Instagram.

Today's Facebook Post
"On 1 May, readers of the Australian woke up to a story that seemed more appropriate for the pages of a dystopian sci-fi novel: ‘Facebook is using sophisticated algorithms to identify and exploit Australians as young as 14, by allowing advertisers to target them at their most vulnerable, including when they feel “worthless” and “insecure”, secret internal documents reveal.’ A 23-page Facebook document seen by the Australian marked ‘Confidential: Internal only’ and dated 2017, outlines how the social network can target ‘moments when young people need a confidence boost’ in pinpoint detail. By monitoring posts, pictures, interactions and internet activity in real time, Facebook can work out when young people feel ‘stressed’, ‘defeated’, ‘overwhelmed’, ‘anxious’, ‘nervous’, ‘stupid’, ‘silly’, ‘useless’ and a ‘failure’, the document states. That evening, the panel on Ten’s nightly current affairs show The Project reflected a national mood of revulsion and anger at the exploitation and targeting of a population that was both unworldly and emotionally vulnerable. It might continuously proclaim its mission to ‘help everyone share’, but Facebook had been revealed in a new and inimical light."
