I was at am Aldi's last night and the cashier started looking really annoyed at the people in line in front of me. When it was my turn I asked her why they frustrated her so much and she said: "Man, they took forever, they are gonna make me lose points!" She explained how the register tracks the total items that go through and rewards the cashier for keeping a certain quota. They've gameified their cash registers. via Jedediah Walls, Media Psychologist http://www.facebook.com/pages/p/375155975925633

The reader's relationship to the data. If anything, content is merely the means by which this relationship is served. What Yalom states of therapy can said of the web, "It is the relationship that heals. It is the relationship that heals. It is the relationship that heals."

Marshall McLuhan stated that every medium pushed to an extreme flips its intended purpose. This is why the web, which relies on external data and initially driven by static HTML data (a form of explicit knowledge) is now so much more concerned with tacit understanding of the world. The web is now about the body. Soon it will be in the body. From there, who knows! via Jedediah Walls, Media Psychologist http://www.facebook.com/pages/p/375155975925633

My first time moderating an event like this and I got a lot of compliments! Apparently ADHD folks make good moderators, because we have to work hard to keep up anyway... Learned so much! The event is going on over the next two days - it was really cool! Check it out.

"First, knowledge, unlike information, is about beliefs and commitments. Knowledge is a function of a particular stance, perspective, or intention. Second, knowledge, unlike information, is about action. It is always knowledge "to some end." And third, knowledge, like information, is about meaning. It is context-specific and relational (Takeuchi, p. 58, 1995). via Jedediah Walls, Media Psychologist http://www.facebook.com/pages/p/375155975925633
